Around Our House

Soooo Daddy made Aubrey a set of blocks and well I am unsure if who loves them more. The man who builds or the little girl who knocks down the buildings.

We had tacos the other night to eat and when we finished eating Aubrey really wanted the bowl of green onions. We of course gave it to her and waited. She proceeded to eat... and eat... and eat... and eat.
Is there something wrong with her???
Aubrey thinks the purple bucket is a hat and walks around the room with it on her head... everyday!

Vacation

There's nothing like going home! While Evan was away on a mission trip to Kentucky in August I went with my mom and dad to Louisiana to visit family. I wish we could return there more often, but I will take once a year! Aubrey has not been to Louisiana since she was 3 months old so there were many people to meet again. We had wonderful food, great places to lay our heads, and a truly great time catching up. The biggest blessing was going with my mom and dad. It isn't often that we get to spend such quality time with them. I was very thankful that my dad was able to make the trip and that Aubrey and I were able to spend some extra time with both of them.
I was fearful of the plane ride. but this is what happened both going and coming.
And to think I packed two very large bags of "plane material' for her.
I don't think we brought too much do you??
Time with Aunt Carol... a woman who LOVES babies of any age!!
Eating french fries. French fries are an easy way to win Aubrey's heart.
Some think I am nuts.... but I packed the swimming pool.
The pool rolls up and I put it into my suitcase for her. If anyone has been to the south during the summer it is, to say the least, HOT! August is the most humid month there is so the pool was a must no matter how crazy you may thin I am. Aubrey LOVED the idea. :D
We emptied the pool into my Aunts plants. Aubrey carried around a bucket and was VERY interested in helping her water EVERY plant she had.
My Uncle resting after doing yard work in the hottest part of the day...
Aubrey "doing" Row-Row-Row your Boat with Mimi
Sooo we took Aubrey out in the morning because it was decent out, but we always carried a cup of ice to eat... it was HOT!
Aubrey and her cousin "loving" on my Aunt's cat. A few moments later Aubrey was bit.
Until that happened Aubrey would not stop chasing the cat and talking to her whenever she hised at Aubrey. Aubrey would laugh and try to kiss her. After the biting incident Aubrey left a little more space between herself and the nice kitty.
Eating corn at GG Sarah's house.... for the first time off the cob.
I had to take this picture!
When my Grandmother and her husband purchased this house I was in love with their bathroom!!! I use to want to bathe in there tub ALL the time, it was just huge! It was such a weird feeling to bathe Aubrey there. I was about six or seven when they purchased their home and to se my daughter there is such a blessing. God gives enormous gifts to us in small moments! I am so happy Aubrey was able to see her GG Sarah and I know it might be odd for a tub of all things to bring on such happiness and fond memories.
Aubrey brushing her teeth with GG SARAH

Doing some work while vacationing.
My Grandmother lives on a golf course and Aubrey would sit and watch the golfers come and go. Eventually she began running up to welcome them, but when they responded she would take off running.

Water fun! Yes Marybeth, the bathing suit still fits!
This suit was purchased for Aubrey when i was pregnant. A friend of ours saw it, loved it, and bought it. Thank goodness it was a girl but, should a 6-12 month suit fit a 1 1/2 year old?!?!?

A Day In The City

We drove into Chicago a week ago and explored. Aubrey LOVED the zoo and throughout or visit she kept telling us that the animals needed blankets when she saw an animal sleeping.
We spent the majority of the day at the zoo and then walked a bit. Afterwards we drove around Michigan Avenue and Aubrey loved the street performers! It was such a great day and much needed. Evan is gearing up for this years kick off and working hard. Aubrey loved would say mommy and daddy all day and then start laughing. It really showed her love for spending the day with us! Thank you Lord for such a wonderful blessing! There is nothing like a day with the family!
